Dribbling over a Canon 450D
November 25, 2008
Yep the Canon 450D is soon to be mine, I’m just waiting for the price to come down a touch after Christmas. I’ve been researching DSLR’s for about 2 weeks now and I can honestly say it has been a roller coaster as there is so much choice out there. About two days ago I was in a dilemma over whether I should invest in a 450D or the older brother, the 40D. After reading countless reviews, I am have pretty much set my mind on buying the 450D, why?
Well I am totally new to the DSLR field, so buying an entry level camera would be a wise decision, however I don’t really like “entry level” gear so I have found something which sits between the upper band of entry level and breaks into the mid range features of an SLR. The price is also great, especially with a bundle that John Lewis are offering at the moment: http://www.johnlewis.com/230527239/Product.aspx The Image quality on the 450D is supposed to better than or on par with the 40D so why should I pay more!? A lot of people on the forums are complaining that the 450D does not have the higher ISO of 3200 or the menu wheel, but I don’t really care about those features enough to justify spending almost £300 extra!! Oh and the weight factor is a big one for me, I can’t be asked to lug around a huge camera especially when the image quality would be close or worse to that of the 40D.
So lets hope the price of this bad boy goes down after Christmas!
